Sorry, no embarrassing photo on this post… But I’m pleased to report that I’m a week into my diet plan and things have been going well. Not perfect, but pretty well. I lost three pounds in my first week! I passed on this tower of donuts – even my favorite, a french cruller. But I haven’t started doing the exercise portion using the gravity bands. This IS the week! I’m a bit worried about getting bored with some of the foods going forward. Any tips on fighting boredom while dieting? What kinds of non-food rewards do you enjoy?
I love that you’re blogging about this. You’re expressing the thoughts, struggles and triumphs that many of us are working on in various ways. I still love your mantra of “drinking water like it’s my job.” When I’m at home I put a straw in my glass – somehow makes the “job” a little more fun. Alton Brown has a nice ginger almond recipe that I make sometimes – raw almonds, sesame oil, soy, ginger, kosher salt… they are a yummy snack/reward. On the exercise front, I pick a cheesy TV show on DVD or Hulu and use that as my motivator to work out. Lately I watch a 42-minute episode of Dawson’s Creek while riding the spin bike. I want to get on the bike because I want to know what’s going to happen next in the show, and it feels like a “treat” to indulge in one of my guilty pleasures while riding.
You’re off to a great start!!!!
Thanks for clicking in and for the tips/tricks. A girl needs ’em! Those almonds sound fantastic, but I am worried that I would eat about ten pounds of them, ha!
Crullers are also my favorite! You have more will power than me, sister! Keep it up! You can do it. Start thinking of yourself in the way that you want to be. That always helps me. Think thin!
Love!
I didn’t know crullers were your favorite too!!!!!! They’re mostly air, right?!
