she dances

Seems like just yesterday the little birdie started walking and now she’s dancing her (big) heart out in head-to-toe pink in her first “creative movement” class. As I was looking through the windows of studio 3, I had one of those “how did I get here?” moments. In a good way. Cue the Talking Heads music…

I had mixed feelings about going down this pink and frilly rabbit hole, but Wren couldn’t be more thrilled about it. So I am too. Plus, I just don’t think I’ve ever seen anything cuter than a bunch of chubby toddlers in pink leotards and tights, skipping around a dance studio. Have you?

  1. Oh, how I love our little birdie! She’s just adorable, and clearly LOVES the girly interaction with other tykes. Any boys in the class, and if so – do they wear pink, too? And if no boys, why not? “Creative movement” shouldn’t be just for girls, right?

    • There are boys in the class before Wren’s class and they wear the traditional “boy” dance clothes: white t-shirt and black pants. There was one boy in Wren’s class, but he cried and didn’t want to go in… 🙁

  2. I love these photos and hope that she always finds joy in dancing! It was such a great part of my life growing up…for my parents, it was about the pleasure of the experience and I am sure it is the same way you are approaching it. And it will serve her well, no matter how long she dances, as there are still days when I get home, turn on my stereo and dance around just to release energy!
