Seems like just yesterday the little birdie started walking and now she’s dancing her (big) heart out in head-to-toe pink in her first “creative movement” class. As I was looking through the windows of studio 3, I had one of those “how did I get here?” moments. In a good way. Cue the Talking Heads music…
I had mixed feelings about going down this pink and frilly rabbit hole, but Wren couldn’t be more thrilled about it. So I am too. Plus, I just don’t think I’ve ever seen anything cuter than a bunch of chubby toddlers in pink leotards and tights, skipping around a dance studio. Have you?
Oh, how I love our little birdie! She’s just adorable, and clearly LOVES the girly interaction with other tykes. Any boys in the class, and if so – do they wear pink, too? And if no boys, why not? “Creative movement” shouldn’t be just for girls, right?
There are boys in the class before Wren’s class and they wear the traditional “boy” dance clothes: white t-shirt and black pants. There was one boy in Wren’s class, but he cried and didn’t want to go in… 🙁
I love these photos and hope that she always finds joy in dancing! It was such a great part of my life growing up…for my parents, it was about the pleasure of the experience and I am sure it is the same way you are approaching it. And it will serve her well, no matter how long she dances, as there are still days when I get home, turn on my stereo and dance around just to release energy!
Thanks, Jennifer!
It’s no wonder you’ve always had such wonderful poise, presence and posture. Aha!
Joy indeed.
